Dota 2 makes history by breaking Skyrim's record for most concurrent users on Steam

Dota 2, the popular real-time action game from Valve currently playable in beta, broke the record for most concurrent users in history on Steam since The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's rise in 2011.
Comparatively, Dota 2 registered a peak of 297,000 players, breaking Skyrim's earlier record by nearly 10,000 users. A graph of the growth of Dota 2 in comparison to Skyrim can be viewed here.
Dota 2 is yet to receive an official release date; however, users can sign up on the official website to join the waiting list to receive a free invite for the game's beta.
